Walgreens sales
I got all this for $5 after Walgreen's coupons and register rewards. This is a great week to get those little Christmas things you need (bags, tissue paper, tags, etc... Whenever you buy $25 dollars worth of merchandise a $5 register reward will automatically print out. You don't have to give them a coupon for it or anything. The great thing about this is that it is $25 before you take the coupons off.(it goes by the regular price of your items) I bought a lot of things that had the Walgreen's coupon (from the flyer) for .39 cents. The average regular price of these items was .99 cents. Example: If you bought 26 items that were regularly .99 cents ($25.74), but were on sale this week for .39 cents you would spend $10.14 OOP and get a $5 register reward.

Frugal Family Christmas fun (day #7)
Take a family picture together. This does not have to be expensive. For many years my best friend and I have gone to the beach together (with our families and digital cameras) and taken pictures. The key is to take a lot so your are bound to like some of them. Go anywhere that is in your area. One year we went to a fort and one year we took them while we were on vacation in the mountains. Then make that family photo into an ornament for your tree. I usually get a dated frame from the Picture People or go to cracker barrel. This year you can go to artscow.com and get a ornament made with your uploaded picture for $1.99 + free shipping. Just use the code ORNAMENT199. I already ordered mine. You can order as many as you want for that price. I bought several for gifts. Another great place to get pictures taken is Portrait Innovations. They have a special that you can get for $9.99. They do a great job and I'm always happy with the outcome. Each year when we pull out our ornament my kids are excited to look at the pictures from past years. It is kinda a Christmas tree scrapbook.

When it gets done.. I do myself proud!
Well it's far and few between that I get to do "Coupon Runs" anymore. Being a stay at home geographical single mom on top of trying to sale/rent our house has burned me out. However on the day, like today, that I did get go... ALONE:) without potty breaks, free cookie runs and being elasta mom (move over Mrs. Incredible) It was great.
I hit up Michaels which I found out take JoAnn & A.C Morre coupons.. Then I headed to Walmart. They don't beat when you can get double coupons but they do beat on almost all prices every other time. FYI The instant 6 pack jello single serves have been rolled back to $1 so if you have the .50 off of 1 coupon they are .50 a box. Then I headed to Winn Dixie. which I normally don't like but on I had a 10 for $10 rain check I need to use in combo w/ my $1 off steamers.. well then there registers would ring them all up right so I got 10 bags of steamers for free and only had to use 7 coupons... So, I'll save them for a rainy day. Next it was off to Publix which was my main objective. Now that I know they take other (AKA Foodlion) coupons I am in frugal heaven. I did get alot of stuff there.. Especially 20 jars of baby food.. yeah, my baby is 15 months but if he won't eat it (stage 3 oatmeal & applesauce) then I'll pass it on to Melissa.. At days ens I spent a grand total of $26.09 on everything! And did I mention the cute guy following me through Publix was an added bonus.. I don't know if it was my non-make up wearing messed up just rolled out of bed look or if he was getting a kick out of my frugalness either way I think I lost him when I opened the door to my car and a ton of junk fell out or it could have also been the 3 car seats in my car:) Either way.. It was a befrugal beautiful day in the neighborhood. Selina

Walgreens 10/5 - 10/11
1) Never use more coupons than the number of items you have. For example if you are using a store coupon and a man. coupon on one item then you need to throw in a cheap filler item. You can't hand them 5 coupons and only buy 2 items. There register/computer will not let all the coupons scan that way. I know it sounds crazy, but it is corporate policy.
2) Register rewards are considered man. coupons as well.
3) you can only use one register reward per transaction. You can't stack them like ECB.
4) you can't use a register reward for an item to buy that same item and get another register reward. You can use other register rewards though.
As long as you follow these guidelines you shouldn't have any problems.

How do you stay organized?
As you can see from the top picture, I have a lot of problems keeping socks matched up. It seems to be even more difficult for my two boys socks. They look so much alike and are a similar size. I decided to try something new. I'm tired of wasting so much time and effort with the sock graveyard. I bought my five year old the black footie style socks. I bought my ten year old the white socks with gray and black bottoms. I plan to use only this style of socks for them (except for church). That should make it much easier to sort and spot socks. I don't want to hear another morning "Mom, I don't have any socks". If you have any other ideas please let me know.

My Kmart trip
My total before coupons was $148. After double coupons I paid $30.96. I saved $117 dollars. WOW, that is a lot of money. I have to say that the computers at my Kmart were not very user friendly. It took awhile for the cashier and the manager to correctly enter all my coupons. There seemed to be a lot of steps involved. They were so nice though that I can't really complain. I also picked up these cute bathing suits for my daughter. They were $2.99 each. They seemed to have a lot of summer clearance, but I didn't really look because the double couponing took so long.

Planning ahead for Christmas this year
All the blogs I have been reading have reminded me that Christmas is not too far away.I have recently started trying to follow a stricter budget than last year. I love Christmas and everything that goes along with the season, so I am thinking ahead this year. I found a few good deals at CVS this week. My CVS has all summer items 50% off. I thought the lined baskets would be great for making themed baskets for family and friends. I also got this Hannah Montana toy for my 5 year old daughter. I will stock up on stocking stuffers now.
I am making a list just like Jennifer at Get ready for Christmas suggested. I got my $25.00 Home Depot gift card (for buying items at Publix) in the mail last week. This may make a good gift for dad or any man in your life. Those $5.00 gift cards from Target's deal this week would make a good addition to a gift basket for a teacher or friend. Do you collect coke rewards? You could use reward points to get gift cards or other gifts. You can use 285 points to make a 8x11 photo book at snapfish. This would make a good gift for any grandparent. Let me know your ideas for saving money this Christmas.

Using a Coupon Devotion
Using A Coupon
Using coupons is an amazing challenge for me. Clipping the coupon and adding it to my collection is like retrieving a prize. I love to gather those colorful little money savers for groceries, makeup, dog food or restaurants. I have a bright blue coupon keeper with little tabs so I can sort my coupons into categories. Sure, I often go through my collection and have to weed out unused expired coupons, but that never stops me from clipping more.
Sunday afternoon is my favorite time to settle in with the Sunday paper and my scissors. I snip away and quickly place my coupons in the coupon keeper. Then I place all of the restaurant coupons in my car’s little compartment I’m sure was designed for that very purpose. When I place the current week’s sale ads and diner coupons in the car, I pull out the previous week’s plethora of paper and pitch it.
Many of my friends just do not understand my love of coupons. They chuckle and roll their eyes when one of them gets ready to purchase something and I say, “Just a minute! I have a coupon for that!” They also shake their heads when the wad of sale ads from Sunday’s paper slides out from beneath the passenger’s seat and splashes across the floor. However, not one friend has ever turned down a coupon when I hand it to the clerk at the cash register for her purchase. No one has ever complained when I pull out an eatery ad that lets us buy one lunch and get the second lunch free.
I have learned a few tips to control my coupon addiction. I have used coupons greatly over the years for personal benefit, but I have also used coupons to bless others. When I am getting ready to fly out of town, I hand my pile of restaurant coupons and shopping ads to my neighbor to use. I learned to do that after I returned from a trip and discovered some really good coupons had expired while I was gone! I also pass coupons for baby items to new mothers; kids’ toys to young moms; and guys’ stuff to my friends who have husbands who would appreciate those things.
Finally, I have learned what coupons not to collect. If I know I will be traveling soon, I don’t clip coupons for groceries that would spoil while I am away. I make myself put the scissors down when I see coupons for candy bars, ice cream and my favorite chips while I am trying to take off a few pounds. When it is late on Sunday night and the newspaper is still rolled up in the plastic delivery bag, I have learned it is OK to go to bed—and deal with the coupon clipping on Monday!
Pam and Kathy’s 7 Tips for Getting Help from Coupons
Obtain an envelope, pouch or box to organize your coupons.
Find friends who can use the extra coupons you do not need.
Be sure to check the fine print on coupons to determine limitations and expiration dates.
Use coupons to help you save money on what you plan to buy, not to dictate your purchases.
Sort coupons into categories or areas of the store (meat, produce, etc.) to make shopping easier.
Take advantage of stores that double your coupons or offer discounts in addition to your coupon.
Consider restaurant coupons as encouragement to take a friend to lunch without hurting your budget.
