I found a great CVS today!

We were out at Camp Blanding today so we decided to stop at the CVS in Starke. Let me just tell you, we had the nicest cashier ever!!! We went about 4:00pm today, but I noticed all the tags for tomorrows sales were already up. The cashier told me that you can get tomorrows sales today. I knew I had read about some people getting them on Saturday after 6:00pm, but I never heard anyone say you could get them all day. She was also nice enough to give us tomorrow's ad and the March rebate book. I had no problem with any of the extra care bucks printing for tomorrow's sale. One of my EBC's for this week's sale didn't print though. So this extra nice cashier just took my receipt and printed me the ECB I was missing. I couldn't believe it. If it was at my usual store I would have had to call the 800 number and have them fix it. I was very impressed. Oh yeah, I did good too. I got all this stuff for only $2 after coupons and ECB.
I won't be driving an hour each week to get to Starke, but if you live near this store just know you are lucky!!!!! I'll post the deals for cvs a little later.

Huggies coupons!!!!!

Go to coupons.com and print high dollar coupons for Huggies. They have $5.00 off 1 huggies gentle care product and you can also print $3.00 off any natural fit product.I don't really know how much these diapers cost since my twins are now six, but I'm sure they will be on sale somewhere. If you don't have babies you could always by these for a baby shower.

How do you save money on vacation?

I know that with this tight economy a lot of us will be skipping vacations or staying closer to home. Some of you, like me, will be going out of town to visit family or just get away. I want to be a frugal as possible, but still have fun. Here are some ideas that I have come up with. Please let me know what ideas you have.
1.We bought an entertainment book for the area we will be traveling. We will get BOGO free coupons the restaurants and area attractions.
2. you can use Restaurants.com and buy certificates to the area you will travel. Unfortunately for us, the area we are going to doesn't have any participating restaurants.
3. Use your Mypoints account to get gift cards to restaurants in the area you will be going. We got TGIFridays (I know, I'm regretting that after last Sat....LOL) and Outback.
4. If you have any other reward cards that offers giftcards as a perk. I had a credit card that I no longer use, but I had acquired points that I could cash in for a $25 TGIFridays gift card.
5. Call the hotel you will be staying in and make sure you are getting the best rate you can possibly get. We called the hotel that we will be staying in after we had already seen a quote online. They quoted us a higher price per night. We mentioned that we had seen a cheaper price online. Well after talking to her for a few minutes we got our rate cut in half. We got a weekly rate because we are staying 6 nights. They didn't just offer this rate to us even though they knew the length of our stay. We had to keep asking about a better rate. From now on if I am staying over 6 days I will always ask about a weekly rate. (by the way this rate was not given to us online either)
Let me know if you have any other ideas for me.

Huzzah! Publix

Oh a Shopping We Did Go

So... hubby and I made it to Publix and Winn-Dixie this weekend to hit some sales.

At Publix we bought most of the BOGO's as well as 4 packages of meat. If we had stuck to our list we would have been even lower but the meats were a really good buy so we had to deviate from the list.

Our total spent was $277.12 our savings was $157. 25 total out of pocket was 119.87 a savings of 57%. Not too shabby.

We then hit Winn-Dixie where shopping is not such a pleasure. One of our coupons wouldn't scan the customer rep came by asked us if we had already used the coupon. We told her no and then she checked the coupon box to make sure. It's so nice to be trusted. She then went to the manager who said if it wouldn't scan they couldn't take it so we had her void the items.
Anyway...

Our total spent was $99.32 our savings was $58.10 total out of pocket was $41.22 a savings of 58%. Not too bad either.

So basically we got $376.44 worth of groceries for $161.09 and saved 57% total.

A few side notes on Winn-Dixie. Use the self checkout registers. They are a lot less picky. The overworked, underpaid and fed up associate will just wave their magic "oops you did something wrong card" at the scanner and override any issues in about 4 seconds. They really don't care.

When checking out, 1st Scan all items 2nd scan coupons 3rd scan the card. If you scan the card first the computer sees the 2nd item in the BOGO's as free and will fry a circuit if you try to use 2 coupons after scanning the card.

The people who work in our store on Beach and St. Johns Bluff are really nice so we usually don't have a problem.

Have a wonderful week everyone

Frustration!!!!!!!!!

I had the worst resturant experience I have ever had tonight at TGI Fridays. You know I'm mad because it is 10:38pm and I am at home blogging and I still have not had dinner. Everyone who knows me, knows that I love to eat out. I am really trying to be frugal and save more money so I have reduced eating out to once a week or less. When I do go out to eat I want a nice experience. Luck was not on my side tonight. Long story short, we sat down at our table at 7:20pm. Our food arrived at 8:15pm. The steaks Jim and I ordered medium were well done. we sent them back. The server took the plates and our sides. The kids ate their kids meals. At 9:00pm the second steaks came out well done also. OMG what is wrong with these people? At that point we had lost patience and our appetites. We just wanted to pay for our kids meals and leave. The manager came over to talk to us, but his attiude was not great. He told us "yeah, we shouldn't try to cook them a third time". No joke!!!! I didn't want you to. Anyway, the server brought our check and they charged Jim and I for our drinks and side salads which totaled and extra $10 on our bill. I paid $21 for 2 kids meals and some drinks?????? I am not happy. I fully intended to pay for my kids meals but you could have at least comped our drinks since we are leaving your resturant after 2 hours and we still have not eaten. Wow!!! Unbelievable. Don't worry I have already sent their customer service a nice little email tonight. I realize it was not the servers fault and yes, I did tip him.

A clip clip here and a clip clip there

Matt told me to post this for you Kelly because he wasn't sure if you knew about it or not. If so maybe others will find it useful. This is a list of hundreds of printable coupons in alphabetical order. Some of them are website coupons that come and go but hey it's worth a shot. Click here to give it a try. Happy hunting

Great deals at JCPenney

My roving sales reporter, Selina,(lol) called me today and told me about some great deals she got at JCPenneys. She said they have a 75% green tag sale. A lot of items are marked $2.97, $4.97, and $6.97. I was out tonight so I stopped by the Regency Mall JCPenney. We found some great deals. Unfortunately the girls department was pretty wiped out. The boys had tons of clothes left. I got Avery and Drew jeans, shirts, and even a Jaguar hoodie for $2.97 each. In the Men's sports section we racked up on some cheap Jaguar apparel. We are ready for next season. I also got a few things in the women's section. I noticed sales in other areas as well. I saw luggage and bedding, etc... all marked 75% off.
