How did your black Friday shopping go?

We were supposed to meet hubby's (family sister, mom, cousins) at Wal-mart at 4:30am. We overslept and didn't get there until 5:30am, but still got the stuff we wanted. I woke up to texts and calls on my cell from Lori M. and Lori G.....everybody was out getting deals. After Wal-mart we went to Waffle House for breakfast and then hit the mall. From there it was on to Target.

Jim had his free drink from Target in the picture above....love those freebies. Next we went to Toys R Us and Sam's. We had lunch at my mom-in laws....yummy leftovers. Tonight I got some deals at Lifeway for my mom. All in all, I got a lot of the stuff I needed to buy.

Christmas Traditions

I am participating in Kelly's Korner - show us your life- Holiday Traditions. We have many traditions around our house, but one of my favorite is our holiday ornament. Each year we do some type of picture ornament with the year on it. For the last two years I have had ours made at Arts Cow, but for many years I just bought an ornament frame and placed a picture in it. My children love taking the ornaments out each year and looking at the picture ornaments. It is like a scrapbook on my tree:) It also makes us realize how much everyone has changed from year to year.

My free stuff from Thanksgiving morning

Did anybody else run out to CVS or Walgreen's this morning for all the freebies after ECB busks and register rewards. I did.....just to good to pass up. I got all this stuff free with overage after ECB and register rewards. I hope everyone had a good Thanksgiving. Mine was very bittersweet for me. I have always loved this holiday, but my grandmother passed away late this afternoon.....I don't feel quite as thankful as usual.

I hope everyone is having a great Thanksgiving. I have been up early this morning getting my 2 pots of crock pot Mac-n-cheese going. They have to cook for 6 hours. I wanted to show you what I did with the Thanksgiving printouts I told you about yesterday. I made these cute boxes of chocolate dipped cookies. We are going to 3 different houses today and most of them have multiple desserts already. My mom-in-law had 8 pies baked last night, so insteasd of bringing more pies I made these. These will be good for the kids or maybe the adults tomorrow for black Friday shopping. I used some of my Martha Stewart boxes I got 75% off at Michaels in Sept.

I hope everyone can spend quality time with the people they love today.

Great weekend in Atlanta/Athens

We had such a good time in Athens/ Atlanta this weekend. This was my hubby's birthday gift to go to a Ga game in Athens. We did have some frugal points to this post. Above is a picture of the Marriott we stayed at in Atlanta. We used Priceline.com and bid on our rooms. We got 2 rooms for 2 night for $30 per room per night. This was an awesome deal for this hotel.

This was my favorite part if the room. Comfy bed with down comforter and down pillows.

This was my hubby's favorite part of the room.....LOL

Stacey (Jim's sister) and her husband Joel went with us. Stacey and I are big Gator fans, but our husbands are Ga fans. We said we would wear Ga apparel for this game since they were playing KY and not FL. Stacey really tried to back out on this but eventually gave in. Shhhhhhh.....don't tell the Ga fans but she had a FL shirt underneath her Ga one. I told her that if those Ga fans knew they probably would have tossed us out of the stadium like Jonah off the ship.

We were driving around trying to find a good place to park and tailgate. We knew we would probably pay $20 to $30. We drove past a lot that was close to the stadium that was $100...OMG....we knew we weren't paying that. As we drove by a nice parking lot guard told us to pull in the next lot that was full. He just saw someone pull out and that lot was FREE!!!!!! Just my style...LOL.

Sadly UGA died 2 days before the game and they had a wreath on his doghouse.

We ate at Hard Rock Atlanta on Sunday before we headed home.

I offically heart priceline

We are on a weekend get-away to Atlanta/Athens. We are staying at this Marriott in Atlanta. I got it for $30 a night on Priceline. It is sooooooooo nice. I am offically addicted to using Priceline and getting great deals. Goodbye to my days of paying $150 a night. We do the bidding, because you can also just reserve a room on Priceline, but the best deals come thru bidding. I think it works best in big cities with lots of hotels (example...orlando, atlanta,etc....)

Last month Edible Arrangements had a coupon on facebook for a free 6 piece dipped chocolate fruits. Tomorrow is the last day to pick yours up. Jim got mine today. Can't wait to try them.

Show us your life- Pets

I am participating in show us your life- pet edition at Kelly's Korner this week. We have a sweet 10 year old Presa Canario dog named Deja Vu (deja for short). She is the sweetest dog ever. She weighs 120 lbs, but couldn't be more gentle. We are blessed to have this sweet dog in our lives.

She is a big baby and sleeps on the sofa all day, but insists on sleeping on the floor in our bedroom each night. We have to watch her because she does try to get on our bed. I keep my door shut when I am not at home, so I don't come home to find dog hair all over my sheets...LOL

The kids love her, but I think Jim and I are more attached because she sits right with us constantly and will make you pet her. Yes....I do mean make you. She will knock your arm with her head until you pet her.

$5 off a $5 purchase at Hallmark

Make sure you check all the magazines you are getting for coupons. I found a $5 off a $5 purchase to hallmark in this months O magazine and Woman's Day. I have also heard it is in Martha Stewart, but I can't confirm it because I don't get that one.

We have had some internet connection issues this weekend so I haven't been on here much. I think we are ok now...I hope. Drew and Abby had there first JBQ (jr bible quiz) match this weekend. Big brother, Avery has done it for the last 4 years but this is this first year. I am very proud of their progress.

We stopped by the Regency Square Mall Saturday and got the free $10 gift card I was telling you about last week. This is Jim waiting in line for his...yes, there was a small line. We both got the free gift cards in Sept and now 2 more in Nov. That is $40 free money that we have gotten!!!!! Lori & Phillip and Nathalie & Stan got them too. I will let everyone know if they have this promotion again. I think they are trying to get people out to the mall and spending money....works for me. We didn't spend ours yet. We are waiting for some good Christmas sales.

Oh yeah, while we were at Regency Square Mall I went to Chick-fil-a. I noticed a sign that said BOGO free nuggets on Tuesdays 5-8pm and BOGO free milkshakes on Fridays 5-8pm. This deal is good for the regency square mall location only (inside the mall), but it is a great deal if you are there at those times.

Quick Friday afternoon shopping trip

I stopped by Target this afternoon after work and got this cute santa Mr. potato head for .99 cents. I had read about it on other blogs but I wasn't sure it would work. I am happy to report it works great. Just go to coupons.com and print the Mr. potato head spud buds coupon for $5 /1. These are called santa spuds and they are priced $5.99. They were with the Christmas/sesonal items at my Target....not in the toy section of the store.

I also stopped at Walgreens again. The Oceanspray 100% cranberry juice is on sale for $1.99 this week (reg.$4.79). Use the $1/1 coupon from the Walgreens coupon book located at the entrance to your store.....this is not the ad. It is a green little coupon book. This make the juice $1 for a bottle. Also I bought another Nexxus shampoo and a small mousse. I guess the mousse is considered small or travel size. It is not trial size. The coupon took off $4 for my shampoo and the $2.99 for the mousse (making it completely free!!!!!)

Great Walgreens deal on Nexxus

This 5 oz Nexxus shampoo is reg. priced $5.49 at my Walgreens. At the front of each store is a Nov. Walgreens coupon book. Just grab one because inside is a coupon for $4 off any Nexxus product (excluding trial sizes). That makes this shampoo just $1.49. This would make a great stocking stuffer for mom, sister, teenage daughter, etc.....

Who is getting excited about black friday shopping?

I am!!!!! Looks like I will be doing it in New York state (not city) this year, but I am still excited. I'm sure I will be much colder than Florida at 4am, but that is a price I'm willing to pay...lol.

My giving challenge

I was challenged personally when I read about Kingdom First Mom's blog and challege for a 30 day giving challege. I feel strongly about this myself. I believe God blesses us and wants us to reach out and bless others. You may be like me....wondering what could I possible do? I am a wife, mother, nurse,...just livivng my normal life. What can I give? I Have been blessed the last year and half to learn a lot more about couponing. I give away my extra stuff to people who need it, but I had accummulated a nice little stockpile of tolietries. My church is hosting a community Thanksgiving dinner for those in need. As i was driving down the road one day I started to think that maybe I could donate my extra stuff to be given out. Well I asked and yes it would be useful when they go door to door inviting people. This is not to glorify my actions, but to encourage any of you that think you would like to do something, somewhere but feel you don't think you have any talents. Saving money is a talent and you could donate somewhere...a church, a shelter, a foodbank.

These are my packages I made up. I was able to make about 100 with various items in each bag. I hope you can be a blessing to someone this holiday season.

I posted about the chick-fil-calendar last week, but I got one today and wanted to let you know how good of deal this is. I have gotten them every year for at least the last 8 years.
