Free family event today Sept. 19th from 10:100am-2:00pm. Children can create an American Girl themed craft. While supplies last. I looked on Michael's website and found that my local store was doing this. Call or look on the website to make sure your local Michael's is participating.

Today I found this great deal. The Martha Stewart stuff...treat bags, boxes, stickers, and other stuff were 75% off at my Michaels. These are great for gift giving if you do a lot of baking. I have bought these once before with a 50% off coupon, but I love 75% off even more....Deja was trying to get in the picture too.

More deals at Publix

Breen, one of my readers, gave me the scoop about a deal at Publix. Glade Scented oil plug-in twin refills are BOGO free. There is a $2 off one coupon in the "one stop one store" booklet. These will be very close to free when you use 2!!!!! Thanks Breen for the info.

My target deals

I went to Target tonight and I got 5 boxes of Kashi for $2.88 each. I used 5 ($1.50/1) coupons sent to me in the mail by Vocal Point. When you buy 5 boxes you get a $5 gift card!!!!!! So basically I spent $1.80 after coupons and gift card!!!!!
We also looked at the 75% off school stuff. Abby and Avery picked out new bags for next year. Drew couldn't decide so were waiting on his. Abby could have picked Hannah Montana or Hello Kitty, but so chose this really cool messanger bag. You can't tell from the pic., but it is cute in person....fashion queen beyond her age...lol.

Lori was out shopping today and told me that one of the Targets in our area has the back to school supplies for 75% off. This is a great time to stock up for next year!

planning birthday parties

Free candles at Publix

This is Carla. She is my co-worker and coupon buddy. She was nice enough to let me know that there is a $3/1 coupon for glade candles in the "ONE STOP ONE STORE" coupon book that is out at Publix right now. The glade candles she is holding were $2.99 at her Publix, making them free after coupon.
This is a picture of the book the coupons are in. Look for it at your local store. We also got one in our newspaper this weekend.

What a difference a day can make

I know my post from yesterday was kinda intense for a couponing blog...lol. That was just where I was at yesterday. A good nights sleep can do wonders for perspective. It did get me thinking about perspective and God's plan. I have been a lot of places in my life and my perspective has changed with each circumstance. I went through a period in my life when I thought I might never have children. I was distressed that all my friends were having children and I was not. I would have probably been mad if someone complained about having too much to do with their kids. Then, when I was pregnant with my twins I went on strict bedrest at 19 weeks into the pregnancy. I was so afraid that something was going to happen and I would lose one or both of my unborn children. I would have thought it was crazy to feel overwhelmed by childrens busy schedules. I know God has used each and every circumstance in my life to mold and shape me This morning on the way to work I heard a song by Salvador called "aware". I really listened to the words today. Some of the lyrics say " Make me aware, make me see everything I am is not all about me". That is my prayer today. That God help me use what I have and know that it's not all about me and my feelings.

Ok, enough heavy subjects.....back to couponing news:)

Tonight I am am truely feeling overwhelmed by motherhood and being a wife. We took Drew and Abby to their Boy Scout and Girl Scout meetings tonight. I am happy that they are starting something that they will probably really enjoy....but I already feel overwhelmed with the hectic schedule we have now. It seems hard to imagine squeezing meetings and campouts(btw....I am not a campout type of girl) and fundraisers. Yes, it was the first night, but Abby already got a fundraiser to work on...aaagghhh!!!!!!! I need MOPS again so I can vent this stuff to other women...LOL. I know it is all about perspective. I have survived being widowed with a six year old and two year old twins, so I can handle anything,...right?? I don't know. I feel really weak right now. I am thankful that God had promised us this. "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness." Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ's power may rest on me.
That is why, for Christ's sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong. (2 Cor 12.9-10)

Lisa and I taught another coupon class...because yes, there really is alot to learn. One of my co-workers who attended the class commented on my facebook and then another male coworker left this comment:

"You girls need to go to "class" to figure out how to use coupons? Save time, and read my Readers Digest condensed version.
1. You cut the damn things out of magazines, newspapers, Paper Mint, etc.
2. Some are already cut out for you, so you save even more time! ... Read More
3. Look for the expiration dates so you will not be humiliated any more than you are being humilated already by holding up a line of shoppers such as myself while you pull out hundreds of coupons and hand them to some teenager who barely knows how to run a cash register, much less what to do with a wad of coupons.
4. Wait for the store manager to come over and help out, further holding up the line.
5. Finally, take your freebies to the car and hope I don't run you over for making me late!!!!
