We are a house divided. Florida vs. Georgia. This week I am participating in the show us your life favorite team/tailgating blog hop.My husband loves Ga and I love Fl. Living in Northeast Fl is great because we host the Fl/Ga game each year and it always falls on my husbands birthday weekend. Last year his gift was tickets to the game. We had so much fun.
We had a Fl and Ga flag on the truck.
The energy at this game is awesome. We go to a lot of Jags (NFL) games, but it's nothing like the excitement at these college games.

I got all this stuff for $14.20 out of pocket tonight. I saved $67.24. Yes I know we got a lot of Dr. Pepper (15 to be exact) but I couldn't resist the deals. Tomorrow starts a new sales ad at Publix. Be sure to go to Southern Savers to find out all the coupon match ups.

Take a deep breath....

Today was one of those days when nothing goes as planned. Normally this is a cause of great stress to me. Today, however, I choose to look at things a little differently. When I normally would have had palpitations...I choose to deep breath. I went to the mall to get a gift for a friend's birthday and a wedding after work. I was going to Publix when I heard on the radio that there was an accident that had the road closed on my way home. I called Jim and told him he should take another route home from work. I went to Publix and was out in about 45 minutes. Ok, this was my first mistake....I thought the accident is probably cleared and it would be quicker for me to go my usual route home.....BAD CHOICE. I was sitting in standstill traffic for the next hour, but instead of stressing out, I was thankful that my husband (who took my good advice and went another route) was able to go pick up my children. As I sat there at 6:00pm, I thought I'm glad I put something in the crockpot this morning. When I got home I found out that I didn't add enough water to the crockpot and my lentils were pretty crisp. I didn't scream or cry. I decided it would be a good night to try the Chilli's 2 for $20. Even when there was a wait for Chilli's (on a Tue. night???) and when my children were acting more like monkeys, I didn't stress. I am choosing to count my blessings today instead of look at negative circumstances and I'm praying that no one was injured in the accident.

Inexpensive dinner out for 2

I know it is always more frugal to eat at home, but I just have to eat out sometimes. It is a nice break from cooking and washing dishes. Chilli's is having a 2 for $20 deal. Target...Mott's deals

This week at Target,Mott's apple juice and applesauce are $1.75 each. When you buy 5 items you get a $5 target gift card...making the items .75 cents after gift card. I can't find any coupons, but this is still a good deal for me to stock up on some juice.

Raingutter regatta

Drew was in a raingutter regatta today with boy scouts.( I told you it was crazy busy here today). He did very good. He won 3rd overall for all the age groups. We are proud of him and he loved it.
One last frugal thing about the party. I got these candy flowers 90% off at CVS, so I made a table decorations for the girls table. I used a vase I already had and filled it with sparkly shredds (basket filling) and then I put the flowers in...so cute and so cheap.

I only thought I was tired last night....

We had Drew and Abby's "best of both worlds" Hannah Montana and G.I.Joe 7th birthday parties today.I have to say that is the hardest part about having twins...doing a boy/girl party at the same time. I was more frugal this year than I have been in years past. This picture was our invitation that we made ourselves.
When the kids arrived we had Hannah and GI Joe coloring sheets (free) printed off line to keep them busy. We also had colored hairspray to put them in the mood. Black and green (camo) for the boys and purple, pink, and blue for the girls. ($2 a can at Wal-mart for Halloween). I also found grenade water balloons 75% off at Walgreen's. You can see the "battle" in the pic below.

My first try at birthday cakes

This is Abby's Hannah Montana cake. I think that it turned out pretty good. I used rolled , colored fondant...love it.This was a 3 tiered cake pans that I bought at Ross for $8.99.
This is Drew's G.I. Joe army tank cake. This cake was so easy and cheap too.

Stayed tuned for a post of the party later today. I was very frugal this year, but I think it will be great!!!

I'm tired

Not to much blogging this week because I've been so busy. I am getting ready for Drew and Abby's birthday party this weekend. We did slow do long enough to go to Olive Garden tonight. Why do they put wheels on the chairs there? Don't they know every kid wants to roll around...not naming any names...Drew:)
I am stressed about getting all the cleaning and wrapping done, but I am super excited about the two cakes I am attempting to make tomorrow. Come back tomorrow because I will be posting pics of my cakes.
Avery is camping at the beach with Royal Rangers tonight. I hope everyone is warm and they are having fun. I need to go to bed too. I have a busy day tomorrow.
